Drone Didi Yojana also called Namo Drone Didi Yojana or Pradhan Mantri Drone Didi Yojana is an initiative by the Government of India to empower women in rural areas. 

This scheme will empower women to become drone pilots in the agricultural sector and empower women. And the women of the village will be recognized as a powerful woman. Drone Didi Yojana is a scheme launched by the Government of India to empower women.

By providing financial support and encouraging entrepreneurship, the scheme not only improves the economic status of women but also boosts their sense of independence and self-reliance.

Purpose of the NAMO Drone Didi Scheme

The purpose of the Drone Didi scheme is as follows which is in two parts.

Women empowerment

• The scheme aims to create new income opportunities for rural women by providing training and drones to self-help groups and to make them financially independent and self-reliant.

Modernization of Agriculture

• These drones have been given to the women of the villages to use the drone technology to monitor the crops and use pesticides and fertilizers. 
• The scheme has been launched to carry out agricultural work like sowing and to provide the work in a more efficient and precise manner. It will promote technology that will increase the productivity of future happiness.

When Was the NAMO Drone Didi Scheme Launched?

The Drone Didi Sahay Yojana scheme was launched by the Government of India in 2030. The scheme is an effort to empower rural women with technology and empower women.

Benefits of the NAMO Drone Didi Scheme

Increase in income

• Women can rent drone services to farmers. Out of which women can increase their income through the money they get as rent.

Skill development

• Women will get training in drone piloting data analysis and drone maintenance through this scheme and will open doors to new career opportunities contributing significantly to the "GDP" of the Government of India.

Improved Agricultural Transactions

• Drones will provide a safer and more efficient way to deliver pesticides and spray fertilizers in agriculture, reducing health risks and environmental impact, allowing farmers to farm faster and more efficiently.

1. Subsidy will be provided to Women SHGs on the Purchase of Drone.
2. Subsidy of 80% of Drone Cost or a Maximum of Rs. 8 Lakh will be Provided.
3. Loan Facility from AIF will also available for remaining cost of drone.
4. Nominal Interest Rate of 3% will be payable on the loan.
5. Training to fly drone will also provided.
6. Women SHGs can use this drone for rental purpose to provide services to farmers.
7. Women SHGs can earn Additional of Rs. 1 Lakh per year with the help of drone.

Promotion of rural economy

• The Drone Didi scheme will inject new income into the rural community and encourage adoption of modern technology in agriculture.
